What shaped me into who I am today?

When the kids in the playground wanted to be Arnold Schwarzenegger, I wanted to be Marty McFly. Back to the Future would be the film I would model my childhood on. I was so convinced about the hover-board becoming a reality I vowed to make that my very first purchase come 2015. Given the lack of hover-boards I had to buy a house instead with my wife. But when hover-boards do come out, I’ll be the first in line.

I watched a lot of classic British and US sitcoms that my uncle owned, movies and Simpsons growing up. And would constantly have my mum’s 80’s music videos on repeat. This really shaped my journey into adulthood. The fact that I tend to relate most things in life to things that happened on the Simpsons gives sense to who I am today. That and along with my parents ethics.

I’m a cultural geek.

Any skills?

Any skills?

Not really.

I do pride myself on my knowledge of zombies to the point that myself and best friend can immediately walk into a room and pick 3 objects that we could use to defend ourselves against them. We have our plan for the outbreak and first year post ready should anything happen.

I’d be really disappointed if I were to die on the first day of a zombie apocalypse. Really disappointed.

My party trick – if you can call it that – is that I can name most 80’s songs within the first 1-2 seconds of hearing the intro.

And no – it wasn’t a hit with the ladies.

Anything else?

Anything else?

I’m a passionate Liverpool supporter and tend to rant a lot when we lose. I also wanted to name my first-born after Jurgen Klopp when he signed on as manager. The wife said no, but we gave him George as his middle name so a small victory (I’ve been told George is the english equivalent to Jurgen).

I tend to also rant a lot about McDonalds as well. Actually I tend to rant about a lot of things. When I’m not ranting, I’m either playing football; playing music; animating; or chasing my young hyper kids around. It tends to be the latter these days.

And I love all things Simpsons.

“Do you want to chage your name to Homer Junior? The kids can call you Ho-Ju.”
Homer Simpson

“Just once I’d like someone to call me ‘Sir’ without adding ‘You’re making a scene.'”
Homer Simpson

And I was once shhhh’d at a Barry Manilow concert. The man gave out glow sticks; how were we supposed to react?!
